SPF, SPF, SPF

spring, summer, fall, winter... you should be wearing it everyday. i’m not here to give you a full WebMD course on sun exposure, but here’s what you should know:

sun exposure can lead to wrinkles and age spots, at any age! you might think the effects kick in when you’re older, but it’s all in the works every time you’re exposing yourself to the sun. in addition to wrinkles and age spots, sun exposure can cause freckles, discoloration of the skin, and destruction of the elastic and collagen tissue (not to mention, the sagging skin that comes with that!). and needless to say, i’ll assume that we all already also know that excessive sun exposure can also predispose us to skin cancer.

so ladies (and gentlemen!), don’t forget to apply your SPF before you leave the house! sun exposure is not only when you’re out laying on the beach under the blazing hot summer sun— it’s all year ‘round! save yourself the wrinkles while you can…

now, i’m not saying to go out and get a full bottle of waterproof sport sunscreen SPF 80 at CVS and slap on a thick white mask on your face. not necessary. get yourself a nice day cream that already has SPF (all your major skincare companies should have at least one cream with some SPF coverage!). i’ve found myself applying SPF everyday by simply changing my face cream. such a simple task, but so easily overlooked.

so to get you started on finding the right cream to add to your daily routine, here's a list of some of my favorite face creams that give you SPF coverage (all available on Amazon, so get on it 👩🏻‍💻):
